What We Believe |

Our Statement of Faith
GOD. We believe in one God, Creator of all things, who loves us and exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
JESUS. We believe that Jesus Christ, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, is true God and true man who died on the cross for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven. He is at the right hand of the Majesty on High as he interceded for us.
THE BIBLE. We believe in the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired word of God which reveals to us His will for our salvation. The Bible is the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
THE HOLY SPIRIT. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to convict and regenerate us. The Holy Spirit also indwells, guides, instructs, fills, and empowers the believer for godly living, mission and service to one another in love.
SALVATION. We believe that people are born in sin and cannot see the kingdom of God except through the new birth. Justification before the holy God is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ.
THE CHURCH. We believe in the true universal Church composed of people united together in the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. Its calling is to worship God and to witness Hesus Christ by preaching the Gospel, demonstrating righteousness, justice and love on behalf of all people, especially the underpriveleged.
SOCIAL JUSTICE. We believe that neither the Church as the body of Christ, nor Christians as individuals, can be neutral or indifferent toward evil in the world. We strive to speak on social and moral issues for the encouragement and instruction of the Church and its members, seeking earnestly both to know the mind of Christ and to speak always in humility and love. We believe that the duty of the churches is not only to encourage and train their members in daily obedience to God's will, but corporately to reveal God's grace in places of suffering and need, for only so is the gospel most fully proclaimed.
THE RETURN. We believe that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in glory to raise the dead and bring salvation and judgment to completion. God will fully manifest His Kingdom when He establishes a new Heaven and a new earth. |
